Apprenticeship (Level 2) Intermediate Carpentry
This course will give you the skills and experience within the workplace to begin a career in Carpentry. It will cover the installation of first and second fix components such as windows and doors, the erection of structural carcassing,
maintenance of tools and equipment and health and safety in the work environment.
Entry Requirements
You should have at least English, Maths and Science
GCSE grade D (or equivalent) and a work placement. Applications from students on full-time Level 1 Carpentry course will also be considered. If you already have some carpentry experience and work in the industry, then this
will also be taken into consideration.
Course Expenses
You will need to supply your own protective clothing and footwear to use within the College workshop.
Career Prospects/Progression
After completing this course, you can progress on to the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship. This course is an enhancement of all subjects covered in Level 2 plus site foremanship, advanced first fix components (cut roof) and machine usage in joinery. Alternatively, you can seek employment.
