Title & Level: GCSE Maths (Level 2)

Introduction
This course follows a programme of study covering the four main areas of Data Handling, Number, Algebra and Geometry. A modular course has been chosen for this GCSE, which is designed to suit the needs of you, the student. The modular course will maximise learning opportunities and skills and minimise exam pressures.

Entry requirements
You need grade D in GCSE Maths or level 2 Key Skills, Adult Numeracy or Functional Skills to enter for this course.

Duration
This is a one year course. Enrolment is only in September.

Career Prospects/Progression
Gaining a C grade at GCSE Maths will provide a foundation for progression on to many other courses and future employment.

How will I be assessed?
This course will be assessed through examination at the end of each module. 

Course Content/units

  • Unit 1: Statistics and Number – written exam
  • Unit 2: Number and Algebra  - written, non-calculator exam
  • Unit 3: Geometry and Algebra - written exam

Course expenses
You will need to buy your own equipment such as scientific calculator, protractor, ruler and compasses.
