Yeovil College has just received the Unionlearn Quality Award for the work it has undertaken with Apprenticeships in Print.

The College was recognised at unionlearn's annual conference with the Award presented by Dr Mary Bousted, Chair of the Unionlearn board.  The Quality Award is for providers in the learning world who are committed to working with trade unions and are providing inclusive, innovative programmes representing good practice and providing top quality information and advice.

Yeovil College is the only specialist print training provider within the South West region. The College has already achieved the Quality Award for Skills for Life and NVQs in Print.  Yeovil College works well with Unite, Unionlearn and a number of unionised companies.

Tim Hunt, Directory of Employer Engagement at Yeovil College said: "We are truly delighted to receive this Unionlearn Quality Award today.  It is further evidence of what can be achieved through close working partnerships between colleges, union reps and employers.  Over the past year more than a hundred Print Apprentices of all ages across four counties, have benefitted from the recognition of skills and increased knowledge within the niche industry and with much hard work from both college staff and employers, have achieved a spectacular 95 per cent pass rate.  The success of the apprentices and the achievement of the award has been a combination of the close partnerships, commitment and enthusiasm demonstrated by employers and Unionlearn."
