Children's Centre Admissions Policy
Waiting List
The Children’s Centre operates a waiting list, which is done on a first come first served basis. (See Equality & Diversity policy). As spaces become available throughout the year, your details can be added to the waiting list if a space is not immediately available to you.
It is advisable to book well in advance, as child places (especially Babies and Toddlers) are extremely popular.
Admissions
We want the children in our care to enjoy their time with us and parents/carers need to feel confident in the ability of the staff in the Children’s Centre to care for and encourage their children to benefit from time spent with us.
The Children’s Centre welcomes staff, students and members of the community. This is reflected in our Equality and Diversity Policy and we adopt the following procedure:
- Prospective parents/carers make an appointment to visit the nursery.
- Upon visiting, parents/carers will have the opportunity to view the nursery, meet the staff and receive both verbal and written information.
- If there is no place available the child’s name will be added to the waiting list and the parent/carer will be contacted when a place becomes available.
- If a place is available the parent/carer will be asked to complete an application form and pay the reservation fee. All information held by the Children’s Centre is treated with the strictest confidence and is only accessible by the Children’s Centre staff.
- Prior to your child’s first day you will be asked to make numerous visits to the Children’s centre as covered in our settling in policy.
