Apprenticeship/Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 2/3) IT Users

Title & Level: Intermediate Apprenticeship/Advanced Apprenticeship IT Users  - NEW

Introduction
This qualification is designed to give you the required skills to success as an IT user.  The course is assessed in the workplace through evidence provided through your job.  At Intermediate level, you will complete mandatory units in Health and Safety and Developing Personal Skills, while at Advanced Level, you will complete a module in Improving Productivity Using IT.

Entry requirements
To join the Intermediate Apprenticeship, you need GCSE Maths and English at grade D or above.  For the Advanced Apprenticeship, you must have at least grade C in GSCE Maths and English.  You also need a suitable placement.

Duration
The Intermediate Apprenticeship takes approximately 18 months.  The Advanced Apprenticeship takes approximately two years.

Career Prospects/Progression
Following successful completion of the Level 2 course, you can progress to an Advanced Apprenticeship in a related area.  If you complete the Advanced Apprenticeship, you can apply for Higher Education courses.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through work-based evidence.  You may need to take exams in any required Functional Skills.

Course Content/units
There are mandatory units at both Intermediate and Advanced levels:

Intermediate Level

•    Health and Safety in ICT
•    Developing Personal Skills (Developing your own effectiveness and professionalism)

Advanced Level

•    Improving Productivity Using IT

Your qualification will be completed with a number of optional units appropriate for your working environment.
