Citizenship Studies

Title and Level: AS Level Citizenship Studies (Level 3)

Introduction
The study of Citizenship is a study of what it means to be British, what that means for our rights and responsibilities and how we can improve our communities. It studies our diversity, our laws and our political practices. It also has an element of active Citizenship, where we get directly involved in the issues that matter to our communities.  

Entry requirements
Grade C in GCSE English and/or participation in the AQA Baccalaureate programme.

Duration
The AS Level is a one year course and the A Level is a two year course. Enrolment is only in September.

Career Prospects/Progression
Following this AS Level, you can progress to other AS/A Levels such as Government and Politics, History and Law.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through two written examinations, one on Identity, Rights and Responsibilities, the other on Democracy, Active Citizenship and Participation.
