Title & Level: BTEC Certificate (Level 3) Performing Arts - NEW
Introduction
This course can be studied as part of an A Level programme and is equivalent to an AS Level. During this course, you can gain an insight into the Performing Arts industry, develop dance and acting skills and perform original work in front of an audience. Through practical and theoretical projects, it prepares you for the rigours of the industry, Higher Education or dance/drama school.
Entry requirements
Standard entry requirements apply. GCSE Drama or Dance are not required, just passion for the subject and energy.
Duration
This is a one year course. Enrolment is only in September.
Career Prospects/Progression
This course will prepare you for a range of opportunities including Higher Education courses in Dance, Drama and Arts Administration. There may be an opportunity to study to A Level equivalent level (subject to numbers). Check the website for further details.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed across a range of projects both in coursework form and in practical workshops and performance.

You will study the following units:
Unit 1 - Investigating Performing Arts Organisations
Unit 2 - Professional Practice: Skills Development
Unit 3 - Professional Practice: Performance
Course expenses
You will need a trip fund of approximately £20 to £30 for each year.
