Title and Level: BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Electronic Engineering Year 1

Introduction
The BTEC Diploma in Electronic Engineering is designed to equip learners with the practical skills, knowledge and understanding required for success in current employment and progression to future employment for a range of related occupations.

Entry Requirements 
GCSE Grade B or above in Maths and Science, and Grade C in English and a technical subject.

Duration 
The course is one day per week over two academic years, each year being 34 weeks.  The mode of attendance is day release (Mondays 09:00 - 18:30).

Careers prospects/Progression
On successful completion, learners can progress to an HNC in Electronic Engineering.  It also provides a suitable qualification for those wishing to change career or move into a particular area of employment.

How will I be assessed 
All units are internally assessed.  All assessment is based on the achievement of specified learning outcomes.  Each unit has specified criteria which are used for grading.  A summative unit grade can be awarded at a Pass, Merit or Distinction.

The Diploma will cover units such as:
-  Business Systems for Technicians
-  Communications for Technicians
-  Mathematics for Technicians
-  Electrical and Electronic Principles
-  Principles and Applications of Electronic Devices and Circuits
-  Principles and Applications of Analogue Electronics
-  Selection and Application of PLC's
-  Microprocessor Systems and Applications
Over the two year duration of the course.

Course fees: £1456.00 (£166.00 if you are in receipt of certain benefits)
A book list will be issued during induction.
