Title and Level: Complementary Therapies Level 3 Diploma
Introduction
This course is for people who want to become fully qualified therapists in Massage, Aromatheraphy and Reflexology. The theory sessions will cover the anatomy and physiology of the body, client care, consultation taking, ethics and professional practice, hygiene, business practice and history.
The Aromatheraphy theory will cover the safety, storage methods of extraction and the use of Essential Oils and Carrier Oils.
The Reflexology theory will include the history, principles and techniques.
This course is intensive and will require a commitment to independent home study and practice of techniques, in addition to regular attendance at the sessions. Learners must be prepared to allocate sufficient practice and study time to enhance their understanding and develop their skills. Be prepared to allocate a minimum of a further six hours a week to your home study/practice.
Entry Requirements
This course will require learners to have a good general education which includes literacy skills that will enable a learner to take extensive detailed notes. It is recommended that the minimum qualification is a literacy Level 2 or equivalent (GCSE at Grade C).
Duration
Wednesdays 09:00 - 16:00 for 30 weeks over a two year period.
Learners are required to enrol for the Year 2 of their course and pay the appropriate Year 2 fee in the July/September of 2012.
Careers prospects/Progression
This qualification will enable you to work in salons, spas, gyms on cruise ships or as a mobile therapist.
How will I be assessed
There is one examination at the end of the course:
Practical examinations are conducted by an ITEC examiner on the Massage treatment, Aromatheraphy treatment and Reflexology treatment.
