Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA)
Would you like some help with costs involved with attending College?
Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) can give you up to £30 a week to help you out with costs such as books, travel and equipment.
What is EMA?
EMA is a weekly allowance to help out with the cost of learning and to help you achieve more qualifications or vocational skills after 16.
You could receive an allowance of up to £30.00 per week if you are studying a full-time further education course at college and are aged 16, 17 or 18. Applications are means tested and for the 2007/2008 tax year, the household income limit was £30,810.
