Engineering Competences City & Guilds 2800 Level 3

Title and Level: Engineering Competences Level 3 City & Guilds 2800

Introduction
This course offers four pathways: Manufacturing, Welding, Welding and Fabrication, Commissioning Installations and Maintenance. This programme meets the requirements of the Level 3 Technical Certificate and is designed to provide practical, hands on experience.

Entry Requirements
A Level 2 vocational qualification in Engineering or appropriate work place experience that ensures the necessary background knowledge and skills.

Duration
Wednesdays 09:00 - 16:30 over two years at 34 weeks a year, six hours per day.

Careers prospects/Progression
This course will give learners the necessary skills and experience to progress in their careers within the specific pathway.

How will I be assessed?
By City & Guilds devised workshop assignments and two on-line exams

Course content/units
Units covered within the qualification will depend on the chosen pathway, but will typically include:

Maintenance: Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems, Principles of Engineering Maintenance.
Mechanical Manufacturing: Turning, Milling and Grinding
Welding and Fabrication:  Principles of Welding, MIG, TIG, Plate work

Course expenses
Course fees: £860.00 per year (£140.00 if you are in receipt of certain benefits.

It is envisaged that there will be no addition course expenses
