The Children's Centre at Yeovil College Fees Policy 

The Children's Centre provides childcare provision that is competitively priced.  We aim to offer a high quality, safe and stimulating environment that provides a service that is good value for money.  The Children's Centre is open between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday.

Details about the Policy:

  • Fees are payable one month in advance and should be paid by the due date.
  • If fees are not paid within 7 days of the due date a £10 administration fee could be charged to your account.
  • Fees can bepaid in cash, or by cheque (payable to Yeovil College) or credit card, at the Payments Office.
  • Payments Office opening hours are as follows:

Monday to Thursday 09:00 - 16:00

Friday 09:00 - 15:30

  • If you would like to pay your invoice by Debit/Credit card please telephone the Finance Office on 01935 845484.
  • Occassional days absent from the nursery due to illness are paid for.
  • Prolonged absence of more than three months due to illness or hospitalisation will be given special consideration.
  • In the event of the nursery having to close for reasons beyond our control, for example severe weather conditions, full fees will be charged.
  • Holidays - two weeks at half fees in any one year pro rata, starting from 1st September to 31st August.
  • Notice of annual holidays in writing to the office must be given one month in advance to qualify for half fees.
  • No charge is made for Bank Holidays or the Christmas closure.
  • One month's written notice is required for any permanent change in sessions or should you decide to terminate your place.
  • Extra sessions can be booked in advance or if available at short notice.
  • Extra sessions booked will be charged in arrears on next month's fees.
  • All fees for lunch/tea have been included in the sessional/daily rate.  Lunch and tea is charged at a rate of £3.45 per meal and this fee is included in the daily and sessional rates and will not be shown as a separate item on your invoice.
  • We ask that children are collected promptly by 18:00 after that we will charge £6.00 for every fifteen minutes that childcare is provided.
  • A reservation fee of £40.00 will be charged to secure your place and this is non-refundable.
  • An increase in fees will take place each year usually before the Autumn Term.

Early Years Entitlement (EYE)

We are in receipt of Early Years Entitlement (EYE) for three and four year olds; this is available for the term after your child's third birthday.  This entitles your child to a maximum number of free childcare hours in each funding period, as show below:

Autumn Term (1st September to 31st December) - 210 hours free
Spring Term (1st January to 31st March) - 165 hours free
Summer Term (1st April to 31st August) - 195 hours free

This entitlement may be claimed from more than one provider.

The following information will be required:

  • A copy of  your child's birth certificate
  • A completed Nursery Education Funding Parent Declaration Form 

All fees charged relate to those hours or weeks not funded by the Nursery Education Funding available.  Parents will be required to pay that part of the session that exceeds the Nursery Funding eg. Nursery Education Funding will only cover up to a maximum of 7 hours per day and a minimum of two and a half hours, not exceeding 15 hours a week.

Parents will be requred to pay for:

  • Hours/weeks that exceeds the Early Years Entitlement Funding allowance and meals.

Working Tax Credit

Childcare Vouchers

The Children's Centre accepts Childcare Vouchers from a variety of different providers including Busy Bees, Sodexo and Accor.

Learner Support Fund

Students attending certain courses may be eligible for funding from the Learner Support Fund.  Information can be obtained from the Student Services Department at Yeovil College on 01935 845452.

Care to Learn

Students aged between 16 years to 19 years requiring childcre to attend college may also be eligible for funding from Care to Learn.  This may pay for all their childcare fees and transport.  For more information please contact the office.
