Important Information
All students must obtain signed, written informed consent from the client prior to carrying out any treatment.
Ensure that informed and signed parental or guardian consent is obtained for minors prior to any treatment.
To ensure a parent or guardian is present through out the treatment for minors under (sixteen) 16
Unit G4 – Fulfil salon reception duties
This unit is about the important skills of welcoming and receiving people entering the salon, handling enquiries, making appointments, dealing with client payments and generally maintaining the reception area. Dealing with people in a polite manner whilst questioning then to find out what they require forms an important part of this unit.

Unit G8 – Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work
This unit is about taking responsibility for improving your performance at work and working well with your colleagues so as to make a positive contribution to the overall effectiveness of your salon.

Unit G18 – Promote additional services or products to clients
This unit is all about your need to keep pace with new developments and to encourage your clients to take an interest in them
They need to be made aware of what is available from your salon to give them a greater choice.

Unit G20 – Ensure responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety
The unit is about health and safety, responsibilities of everyone in the workplace. It describes what you must do to make sure that:
- Your own actions do not create and health and safety hazards
- You do not ignore the hazards that present risks in your work place
- You take sensible action to put things right including reporting situations which pose a danger to people in your work place and seeking advice
- It is very important that you understand the terms "hazard", "risk" and "control"
Hazard "a hazard is something with potential to cause harm"
Risk "is the likelihood of the hazards potential being realised"
Control "the means by which risks identified are eliminated or reduced to acceptable levels"
Unit B4 – Provide facial skin care treatment
These treatments include skin exfoliation, skin warming, extraction, facial massage, mask treatments and the use of facial products. Such treatments must be successfully provided to a range of clients with a variety of skin types and conditions. Skin conditions are mature, sensitive and dehydrated and skin types are oily, dry and combination.

Unit B5 – Enhance the appearance of eyebrows and eyelashes
To use a variety of consultation techniques to establish the treatment and outcomes required by the client
To provide eyebrow shaping and artificial lash treatments using a variety of work techniques

Unit B6 – Carry out waxing services
This unit is about removing hair using waxing techniques. The areas to be treated include the eyebrows, face, legs, underarm and bikini line

- Remove unwanted hair

Unit B8 Provide make-up services
This unit is about providing make-up services for a variety of occasions including day, evening and special occasions

Unit N2 – Provide manicure services
This unit is about providing manicure services to clients. It covers consulting with the client recognising any contra indications, preparing for the service and producing a service plan. It also covers filing and buffing the nails, using skin and cuticle treatments, massaging the hand and lower arm and providing a suitable nail finish.

Unit N3 – Provide pedicure services
This unit is about providing pedicure services to clients, recognising any contra indications, preparing for the service and producing service plan. It also covers filing the nails, applying skin and cuticle treatments, cleaning and drying the feet, removing excessive hard skin, massaging the foot and lower leg and providing a suitable nail finish

All level 2 students will attend all lectures and practical sessions
*Students must find their own clients for assessments and will be fee paying, see price list .
Extra courses on level 2 will include :
Environ Skin Care training 1 week
Stage 1 and refresher training.
Jane Iredale make-up course stage 1 and 2.
1 day Advanced Nutrition training.
