Title and Level: Support Work in Schools Level 2 Award
Introduction
This course is for people who are volunteering or working in a support role in a primary or secondary school, eg teaching assistant, lunchtime supervisor, clerical assistant, library assistant, technician, IT support, caretaker, cleaner, catering staff.
This is a knowledge based qualification suitable for all support staff roles in schools. It seeks to develop the knowledge and understanding that all those working in a school setting will need and covers areas such as safeguarding, communication and understanding the school context.
As it is a knowledge based qualification, it can be taken by candidates not yet employed in a school, as well as providing initial training or induction for those who are new in post.
This qualification is an excellent way to gain confidence and pride in your abilities in your support role. It helps develop practical skills in preparation for work and you can progress to a Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools. You will also be given the opportunity to improve your basic skills in literacy and numeracy.
Duration
This course is delivered on a flexible basis.
Entry Requirements
An ability to work independently. Able to complete a workbook.
